It’s easy to justify that extra piece of chocolate cake if “we’ve had a hard day at work” or to punish ourselves for not working out by not allowing ourselves any cake at all. Our relationship with food can be very complicated and may require “resetting” to help us get back to a healthy relationship that includes listening to our body’s hunger and satiety cues and replacing unhealthy eating behaviors with other behaviors that fill the need we are attempting to meet with food.
